Medical and Dental Care IU Contribution Policy for Medical and Dental Care Plans 2008
Indiana University contributes the same amount to an employee's medical and dental care coverage regardless of the plan selected. For example, the IU contribution for family medical coverage for 2008 is $945.00 per month, whether the employee selects the IU PPO $900 Deductible, PPO-Plus, or Blue Preferred Primary POS. The employee's payroll contribution equals the difference between the IU contribution and the total premium for the associated plan. The university contributes a greater amount for non-exempt staff with a base salary of less than $27,186.
The employee's total cost for care under a particular medical or dental care plan equals payroll contributions, plus any deductible and copays required by the plan. Employee contributions are paid through pre-tax salary reductions. Also see TSB Premium Conversion.
