Early Worm Gets the Bird (1940) - A mother blackbird warns her little birds to not get up too early to look for worms because the fox will get them. One small blackbird does not heed the warning and is almost eaten by the fox after waking up early to find worms. Children, 9 min., 16mm, dir: Tex Avery.

Education of Sonny Carson, The (1974) - Campus has recruited directly from the community in his documentary style look at young Blacks with dreams of escaping their ghetto situation. Professional actor Rony Clanton plays Sonny Carson whose life, in reality, has been reshaped by the lessons he learned trying to stay alive in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant area. Election Day (1929) - Farina and his little sister, Pleurisy, can't leave their farmyard until election votes are counted, but their mother wants them to deliver laundry. Finally they get downtown, but are caught in a battle between the police and a crooked group of gangster-politicians trying to loot the ballot boxes. During the shoot-out, Farina and Pleurisy foil the crooks by finding the "missing" ballots in their laundry wagon and turning them in. But Mom spanks them anyway for not delivering the laundry. Emperor Jones, The (1933) - Brutus Jones (Paul Robeson), a Pullman porter, manages to usurp the throne of the ruler of a Caribbean island. His lust for power leads to disastrous consequences. Encounters (1995):
- Episode 1: The President and the Prosecutor - After Nelson Mandela has been freed from prison, he met with the South African prosecutors who put him there. Biographical information of the former president is also presented in this documentary.
- Episode 2 - The second episode of this series examines the mysterious murder of Zazi Kuzwayo on May of 1987. Jumille, a herbal healer and property owner, was accused and jailed for the crime, but the murder remains officially unsolved.
- Episode 3: Apartheid's Foot Soldier - The early anti-apartheid movement is presented in this installment of Encounters. Highlighted is the activism of Neil Aggett who in 1963 became the first white South African to die while incarcerated.
- Episode 4: The Mysterious Disappearance of Boiki Majestic Tlhapi - Many activists captured in police raids were taken to the "Guest House" and never seen again. This episode of Encounters presents the story of two fathers reconciling the fates of their sons - one was a white police officer and the other a black activist.

Ethnic Notions (1986) - The film documents 100 years of racist media caricatures: "Mammy," "Sambo," "Picaninny," "Coon," "Jim Crow," and "Uncle Tom," are all depicted in a historical survey covering the pre-civil war origins of many popular caricatures to manifestations in the 1980s. The Aunt Jemima image of the 1980s challenges any assumption that racist stereotypes have disappeared. Documentary, 56 min., VHS, dir: Marlon Riggs.
Evelyn Williams (1995) - Williams recounts her ancestry from slavery to future landowners in the Kentucy Hills. She remembers racism, segregation, a lynching and watching a Klu Klux Klan march as a child. The focal point of the documentary is Williams who with the support of a Kentucky Conservation Team, fights for enviornmental rights against oil drilling on her land. Eve's Bayou (1997) - Told through the eyes of Louis' (Samuel L. Jackson) youngest daughter Eve (Jurnee Smollett), the film concerns various events happening within a Louisiana family, one of which is Louis' infidelities towards his wife Roz (Lynn Whitfield). Debbie Morgan plays Mozelle Batiste; Meagan Good is Cisely Batiste; Jake Smollett, Poe Batiste; Ethel Ayler as Gran Mere; Vondie Curtis-Hall plays Julian Grayraven; Lisa Nicole Carson portrays Matty Mereaux; Diahann Carroll is Elzora and Branford Marsalis is Harry. Exile, The (1931) - A young man, disenchanted with his fiancee, leaves Chicago for the West and settles in South Dakota. There he meets and becomes very attached to a young woman he believes is white, but all works out well for them when he discovers she is of mixed blood. Donald Haywood's band performs. First talkie by black company. Drama, 93 min., VHS, 3/4", dir: Oscar Micheaux.
Exit 13 (1997) - In this thriller, a young man witnesses a murder in the restroom of a roadside restaurant, but when the murderer starts chasing him in order to kill him too, he, in self-defense, murders him. While the young man reports the two murders to the police, it turns out that the murderer is, actually, not murdered. Drama, 12 min., VHS, dir: Booker T. Mattison.
Exposures of a Movement (1996) - The film documents the contributions made by area civil rights photographers. Interviews with photojournalist Alex Rivera, Count Jackson, Charles Jones and Cecil Williams. Documentary, 27 min., VHS, dir: Steve Crump.
Extra Change (1987) - The film explores the consequences of peer pressure and low self-esteem on a 12 year old girl. The film is based on a short story written by Coustaut in 1972. Drama, 28 min., VHS, dir: Carmen Coustaut.
Eyes on the Fries: Young Workers in the Service Economy (2004) - This short documentary examines the boom in low wage, service sector jobs and the impacts it will have on today's youth. Documentary, 21 min., DVD, dir: Casey Peek.
